Indigenous to the Newfoundland coastline after which they are named. Newfoundlands are robust ponies that have grazed upon Newfoundland's rugged, windswept terrain for hundreds of years.
A breed blended from the Exmoor, Dartmoor, Fell, Galloway, Connemara, Welsh Mountain and Highland ponies, they are adaptable, strong and steadfast, a well as good nature and very intelligent.

Needing little mollycoddling, these Heritage ponies are well suited to harsher climates and rough terrain. Ranging in size from 11hh to 14.2hh, weighing between 400- 900lbs they make excellent mounts for children and adults.
